However, with the advent of over-technology known as Shape Anchors, the balance has been disrupted. Collectors use Shape Anchors to forcibly transform anomalies into human forms or help them transform themselves. Some wish for coexistence, but most seek to use this to grow their power. The Foundation will not tolerate this, declaring Shape Anchors completely forbidden and waging war to eliminate all Collectors who use them. Yet, more powerful beings are awakening from the cracks.
